Chicken Fried Steak

  • 1-2 pounds Cube Steak (tenderized Round Steak That’s Been Extra Tenderized)
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 cups Flour
  • Seasoned Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil for frying, I use Canola, about 1/4-1/2 in the skillet
  • and a few more dashes of salt

Set up your assembly line, meat, egg/milk mixture, and flour, then cast iron skillet filled with oil and heated to oh, medium/high heat. Grab one piece of meat, dip in egg/milk mixture then flour, then back into egg/milk mixture and back into flour, make sure that you get it all good and covered. Sprinkle a little flour into the skillet to make sure that the grease is good and hot, if it is, then fry away!  Continue until all you want to fry is soaked and battered.  You want to cook until it’s brown around the edges, 4-5 minutes approx on each side, you’ll know, we like ours crispy, so sometimes I fry mine just a smidgen longer, careful not to dry it out!  Once done be sure you put the steaks on a plate with paper towels to soak up that extra grease that “might” be there!!
