Homemade Vanilla from Amy

I use a fifth of vodka (Burnett’s is good, and runs about $8-10 for a fifth around here), split all of the beans most of the way up (leave an inch or so attached), shove them in the bottle (you’ll have to pour some out to account for the volume of the beans- make a drink!), and put it in a cool, dark place. Shake it whenever you think about it, and in 3-4 months it’s ready to use!  16 beans per fifth of vodka…
