Pumpkin waffles

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 T brown sugar
1 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1-1/4 cups milk
2/3 cup canned pumpkin
2 T butter, melted
1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)

In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk the egg, milk, pumpkin and butter, fold into dry ingredients until blended then stir in the pecans.
Bake in a preheated waffle iron until golden brown
